Welcome to the 6th Annual African American Children and Families Conference, 2017. We at the University of Northern Iowa are proud and privileged to offer many interesting, engaging and culturally competent speakers, workshops, dialogue and professional sharing of ideas and experiences. We strive to provide positive, educational, cultural and current information relative to the well-being of African American children and families.

Our theme this year is "Imagine the Impact: Creating a Caring Community through Vision, Voice and Victory!"

Why This Conference is Important

The College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa would like to extend an invitation for you to become an active participant by joining in collaborative efforts and sharing in educational experiences that will allow all who desire to support and empower the African-American community. This event evidences national honor and recognition by showcasing the work of international, national, regional, statewide as well as local scholars and practitioners. We are especially proud of the number of university and high school students who continue to share in broadening our multicultural climate. We welcome you to join in as we celebrate, honor, acknowledge and maintain African American heritage by opening new pathways of becoming career-oriented, college and citizenry ready as well as family supportive.
