Environmental Health and Safety at UNI

The University of Northern Iowa is committed to providing an environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors in which they can function without risk to their health or safety. In addition the University must remain in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations from organizations such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Health Administration (EPA), Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).

To this end, the Environmental Health and Safety Group provides consultation and direction in campus safety, occupational safety, fire safety, regulated waste disposal, chemical use and storage, storm water pollution control, and radioactive material use and control.
