Iowa Food Waste Reduction Project
The Iowa Waste Reduction Center recently launched the Iowa Food Waste Reduction Project. The goal of this project is to reduce the generation of food waste and its disposal in Iowa landfills. By developing comprehensive educational tools, helping to build infrastructure for waste diversion outlets, and advocating for policy changes, the project aims to become a national leader in reducing food waste and diverting it from landfills.

UNI project to monitor how much food is thrown away
On Jan. 1, UNI's Iowa Waste Reduction Center launched a new food waste reduction project, whose goal is to raise awareness among institutions and, ultimately, consumers, about waste and the pressure it puts on landfills.
The program will include a website that will act as a virtual food waste reduction center.
