The first annual Jacobson Center and Reading Recovery Literacy Academy will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the University of Northern Iowa Maucker Union. The Academy includes sessions familiar to those who attended the Reading Recovery Pre-Conference Institute in the past, as well specific strands for Comprehensive Literacy Coaches and classroom teachers, Comprehensive Intervention Model Coaches and interventionists, and Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy (PCL) administrators and those interested in more information. Dr. Richard Elmore, Harvard University, is the keynote speaker for this event.
The 45th Annual Elementary Literacy Conference (formerly the Beginning
Reading Conference) and the Iowa Reading Recovery Conference will
again be combined on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Schindler Education
Center on the UNI Campus for the benefit of all elementary literacy
teachers. The conference will include multiple sessions on topics in
the area of literacy and will feature Steven Kellogg, author and
illustrator, as the keynote speaker. Several of his books will be
available for purchase and he will be available to sign books
throughout the day. See the Elementary Literacy Author page for more
information about Steven Kellogg.
