UNI's Price Laboratory School welcomes you to the 42nd Annual Elementary Literacy Conference formerly the Beginning Reading Conference. This year, we are proud to host storyteller Brian Cleary.

In 2010 two great conferences are joining forces to bring you twice the opportunities for professional development. The annual Iowa Reading Recovery and Elementary Literacy Conferences will now be one conference, for the benefit of all elementary literacy teachers.

To fulfill professional development goals, presenters have linked the Iowa Core Curriculum to their presentations. Visit the Iowa Core Curriculum link for more details www.corecurriculum.iowa.gov. The National Standards for Literacy are also integrated into many presentations.

UNI's Reading Recovery Program welcomes you to the Reading Recovery Conference. This year, we are proud to host pre-conference keynote presenter Mary Fried.

	Mary Fried is a trainer at The Ohio State University Reading Recovery Center. She was part of the original 1984-85 pilot project for Reading Recovery in the United States. She received her Reading Recovery training from Dr. Marie Clay and Barbara Watson as part of the pilot project and has continued to work training teachers, teacher leaders and trainers since that time.
