The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a "Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting" to the University of Northern Iowa for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the year ended June 30, 2007. The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.
In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a University must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized annual financial report whose contents conform to program standards. Such reports must satisfy both U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. This is the sixteenth consecutive year the University of Northern Iowa has received this award. We are committed to continue this effort, and we intend to maintain a highly qualified and professional staff to make this certification possible.
