Smoking Prohibited at the University of Northern Iowa Beginning July 1, 2008 Effective July 1, 2008 the Iowa Smokefree Air Act prohibits smoking anywhere on the entire UNI campus, including University owned or leased vehicles and vehicles parked in University parking lots. The new law imposes penalties for noncompliance on both the smoker and the institution in the event of a violation. |
Merit System
The Merit System includes both contract and noncontract employees. Contract employees are Blue Collar, Clerical, Security, and Technical employees. Noncontract employees are Supervisory (clerical and nonclerical) and Confidential (clerical) employees.

required for University operations.
