   POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

 

POSITION TITLE: Web Developer               

 

DEPARTMENT: University Marketing & Public Relations (UM&PR)   

APPOINTMENT TYPE: 12 Month, Probationary , Pay Grade III     

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION : Manages web development projects for the UNI web site; assists in the supervision of student web developers; assists the Associate Director of Operations in setting web site standards at UNI; and promotes standards to campus web developers.

 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.   Maintains the main UNI web site and other sites managed by UMPR; and manages the development and maintenance of UNI departmental web sites as requested.

 

2.   Supervises student web designers to ensure an orderly and efficient workflow.

 

3.   Assists the Associate Director of Operations in setting web site standards; collaborates with other web developers on campus to promote the use of web standards and best practices on the UNI web site; and provides training as needed for other web development on campus.

 

4.   Provides leadership in the electronic communications role in enrollment management, foundation, alumni and other key areas; and evaluates new trends in web design and web features and their potential application to the UNI web site.

 

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of web design experience including XHTML/CSS and database-driven web design required. Proficiency in web coding, web accessibility, site validation in accordance with W3C web standards, and in use of Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Photoshop also required. Web usability testing experience and/or Drupal experience preferred.
