GENERAL CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, performs skilled work involving the repair, maintenance, service, and installation of laboratory research and teaching equipment.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Constructs complex laboratory and research equipment from woods, metals, and plastics.
- Repairs and maintains laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Rigs and dismantles complex equipment and apparatus for experiments.
- Performs carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties, not of the journeyman level.
- Installs laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Maintains shop and office supplies.

CLASS SPECIFICATIONS:
Three years experience in shop related work.
