ADDITIONAL POLICY AND INFORMATION REFERENCES

The Affirmative Action Policies and Procedures manual has been distributed to all deans, directors, and department heads. It consists of the University Policies and Plan for Affirmative Action and outlines affirmative action/equal opportunity information and procedures for recruiting affected class faculty and staff. A copy of the faculty recruitment manual is available in all academic departmental and dean's offices, and materials for professional and scientific recruitment are available in the Human Resource Services office. The budget document is distributed annually by the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance. In addition to other information, it contains salary information for each budgeted position according to department or unit. A copy of the budget is kept in the Rod Library or can be accessed online.

The Cedar Falls Chamber of Commerce is available for community information, as is the Office of the Mayor in the City Hall. To vote in any election, an individual must be registered at least 10 days preceding the election. Registration may take place at the City Clerk's Office, the County Auditor's Office, the Office of the Commissioner of Elections or a mobile registrar.


Published annually, this report presents the financial statement of the University with various schedules showing receipts and expenditures. It is available at the Office of the Controller and the Rod Library.

A current collection of the laws of the State of Iowa is published under the direction of the state legislature. It is available in the Rod Library or online.

The Merit Employee Handbook serves as a source or reference for university policies and procedures for Merit System employees. It is available in the Human Resource Services Office, or online.

 

Opportunities for Employment and Opportunities for Promotion and Transfer are announcements containing job openings for both merit and professional and scientific positions. It is compiled by Human Resource Services and distributed to departmental offices. Opportunities for Employment may also be found on the World Wide Web at http://www.uni.edu/hrs/employ. UNIOnline

UNIOnline is available online biweekly during the academic year and every third week during the summer. It contains information of interest and of benefit to faculty and staff.

University Policies And Procedures Handbook

The Policies and Procedures Handbook contains university information and policies: personnel policies; payroll procedures; fringe benefits; travel policies; contracts, grants, and gifts procedures; purchasing policies; sales procedures; and university services. This guide is prepared by the Office of the President, with President's Bulletins sent periodically. It is available in each department office.

The UNI General Catalog contains specific information about courses and curricula, the history and organization of the university, the university faculty, admissions requirements, and information on financial aid and housing. The catalog is issued biennially by the Office of the Registrar. Copies may be purchased in the Transcripts area of the Registrar's Office.

Co-published each fall by the Offices of Public Relations and Human Resource Services, the UNI Directory contains the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of university employees and students. Also included in the directory are telephone service information; administrative, services, and department offices; listings for fraternities, sororities, and residence halls; map of the campus; listing of Emeritus faculty; university organizations; and hours of operation for university services. The UNI Directory is sold at the Maucker Union Information Desk and in the Office of Public Relations.
