Potential UNI Employees

Those interested in obtaining employment at UNI may obtain information on job openings in the following ways:

by calling the Text telephone, (319) 273-2119; for the speech and hearing impaired;
by looking on the UNI Employment Page;

Individuals not currently employed at the University who are interested in University employment may apply in Gilchrist Hall, Room 027, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

UNI Employees

Current UNI employees may obtain information on job openings in the following ways:

by calling the Text telephone, (319) 273-2119; for the speech and hearing impaired;
by looking on the UNI Employment Page;

Current employees may bid on open positions in Gilchrist Hall, Room 027, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or summer hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To bid on open positions, employees need to fill out either a Contract Transfer or a Promotion, Transfer, Voluntary Demotion form available on the web or in the Human Resources Office by the closing date (date has asterisk on position announcement). Employees bidding on open positions are encouraged to review their personnel files in Gilchrist 027 and to update their application materials in their file.

The UNI Job Line, (319) 273-2421, may be called 24 hours a day for a listing of jobs open to those interested in obtaining employment at UNI. Information on jobs available to current employees can be found on the UNI bid line, (319) 273-5837. A text telephone is available for the speech and hearing impaired at (319) 273-2119. Additional information on any positions open at the University or on how to use any of the available telephone lines may be obtained by calling (319) 273-6940. All lines are updated on a regular basis.

UNI Employees -

Opportunities for permanent Merit System Employees to indicate interest in promotion, transfer, or voluntary demotion, Employees may complete online forms or by visiting the HR Office, 027 Gilchrist Hall.

Transfer - The most senior, eligible employee will be placed in the job. Employees are encouraged to visit the departments with the posted vacancy, but there is not formal interview.

Promotions/Demotions - Employees are encouraged to update application materials. These vacancies involve an interview/selection process.
