For those individuals that come from abroad to work at UNI, the University offers guidance and assistance to ensure that UNI employees, and those recently offered employment, can obtain and maintain the legal authorization to work and remain in the United States. Consultation is available for all UNI departments and employees regarding work authorization for Faculty and P&S foreign nationals. Whether the employment will be temporary or long-term, the appropriate authorization will be identified.
If your department is currently involved in a search or you are considering hiring a candidate that requires sponsorship to work in the U.S., make an appointment with Alisa Weeks in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost to review options early in the process.
Likewise, if you are an employee currently working with temporary authorization and you are interested in reviewing your status, make an appointment with Alisa Weeks in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost to review your eligibility. Alisa can be contacted by email at ImmigrationHR@uni.edu or by phone at 319-273-2523.
