Eunice Dell served the University of Northern Iowa and the Division of Administration and Financial Services with distinction for 31 years. In her work at UNI and in her community, Eunice truly made a difference. In recognition of her contributions, the Division has established an award in her honor and seeks nominations of Division employees that, by their actions, have also made a difference. The award will be announced at the Administration and Financial Services Division recognition reception scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2012.
The story of the starfish describes the difference that one person can make in his/her daily work. It is common for starfish to have five arms and thus there are five criteria, modeled after those values that Eunice lived. Award nominees should have made a difference in one or more of the following areas:
• Nurturing diversity and respect
• Promoting service, activism and engagement
• Modeling compassion for others
• Providing access and opportunity
• Leading the way
