Setup Voice Mail for Vacation
Two options are available for handling voice mail when you are on vacation. The options are:
- Change Your Greeting
- Change Your Greeting and Shut Off Your Mailbox
If you plan to check your messages while you’re away, or review them upon return, you may want to take the first option, Change Your Greeting. New messages will remain in your mailbox for 15 days, and then will be deleted. If you have a "zero-out" option in use on your phone, it will remain active during the time you’re gone. The "zero-out" option will give a caller the ability after several rings to press zero and speak to another person.
Changing your greeting and shutting off your mailbox may be the better option if you will not be checking messages while on vacation, will be gone longer than 15 days, or you do not want to give the caller the option of leaving a message. If you have a "zero-out" option in use on your phone, it will remain active during the time you’re gone.
