Windows Defender is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected and minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive. This is an anti virus program that scans your computer and tells you about bad programs when you start to download so you know not to download them.

Computers in Administration and Finance have Windows Defender installed and they are programmed to automatically scan your computer and update the software definitions.
